Amniotic Fluid Embolism is a very rare multifaceted obstetric emergency and has a high chance of morbidity and mortality for mother and baby. It is the 5th highest direct reason for maternal death in Australia. All midwives are expected to maintain their knowledge in relation to AFE and the required emergency response, postnatal care and emotional support for this high-risk condition.
This online learning is for midwives providing maternity care, and recertification is recommended yearly
